I'm over in the States at the moment on business and I have a question, when did we in the UK lose our manners and politeness? People over here are far more polite, helpful and well mannered than back home!

From the shop assistants, receptionists, bar staff through to the general public they all make much more of an effort to portray a friendliness that has disappeared (was it ever there?) in the UK.

I'm not one for moaning without doing, so personally I'm going to make more of an effort when I get back home!

Been watching a couple of programs on Channel 4 recently, one on Muslims in Texas and the other on teenage virgins (that keyword should get us blocked by some proxy servers!!).

The second of the two was a more thought provoking program, but why oh why when we do Christian programming in the UK do we come from a sceptic side? The tone had an almost patronising ring to it under the surface.

Anyway it's all about Lubbock, Texas and a pledge teenagers are encouraged to take. A lot of focus is placed on Ed Ainsworth who preaches abstinence, for a flavour of it look at this article.

Just watched the first of a series of programs on Channel 4 - The Texas Solution. I'm starting to like George W Bush and his ideas! Two reasons I think, one he's a Repulican and as a Tory (sorry but I am what I am) I can identify with that and two he's a Christian.

You may disagree with the war but look at the Vance Unit and the Giddings facility and you can see he has some good ideas for tackling crime in a unique way. Can you imagine this (particularly the former) in the UK?

Tomorrow is the 6th January, Epiphany. If you're anything like me you kind of knew about it but never knew the exact meaning. Well now you do!

Oh and your trees, decorations etc have to come down!! It's all over for another year.
