Hope you all have a great time tonight, Happy New Year. For those East of the UK, hope you're enjoying 2004!

Me I'm off to put my feet up and watch TV, then to bed before 12. With two under two's in the house sleep becomes more of a joy than a few beers and a party. Those with kids will understand, those without will just think I'm sad!

Here's to a more active New Year on resurrected.co.uk

Are these people insane? We drove through Sheffield yesterday and the traffic at 2 in the afternoon was chocker! 3500 at the Trafford Centre from 3:30am, 50 people max in our Church on Christmas Day, make sense to you?? Me neither, I mean even if you're bored by Church services surely sitting in the freezing cold for 5 hours can't be more fun can it.

Finally watched the Horizon program on the book The Bible Code. Quite interesting, but I think the sceptics had the edge.

Watched Hand of God tonight, not the recent one but the first one on sport from a week or so ago.

What is the point of doing a religious program with a complete sceptic? Worse than that someone who is willing to question Christians but not willing to challenge those who follow Islam. Why can we pluck at the core beliefs of those who follow Christ (which I'm OK with, each to their own), but when it comes to Islam we are afraid of asking the same challenging questions?

But I didn't mean this to be a pop at Muslims, it is a pop at the BBC for not allowing a religious person to front what otherwise could have been an interesting topic.

Oh and my project went in on the 2nd as planned!

"Yet the family context in which youngsters ‘have sex’ is highly relevant to values and behaviour. We are always told that the Dutch are successful at keeping teenage pregnancy low; if so, this is directly related to the fact that more mothers stay at home in the Netherlands, and Dutch divorce figures are also low. Intact family life is the best protection against precocious sexual activity. Ms Sawyer’s dialectic boasted that the age of consent in Spain is 13, and yet the average age of loss of virginity for young women is 19. She did not go on to explain that this is because family life is much more protective in the Latin countries. Where the family is strong, the law is less significant, to be sure. The law is important in Britain because the family is so often absent."Exactly! This was a peice from Mary Kenny in last weeks Spectator.

Another great article on a similar family theme was this one.
