Finished the second Everyman program. Very interesting program, I have to admit that as a Christian the program made me skeptical. I was vaguely aware of their work and the program hit on the "Cult" fear that I think first came to my mind, it was good though to see them become accepted and shake this off (together with the Bible Basher tag!).

Sharon mentioned something that I thought summed it up nicely "Christianity is all about choices"

Blimey, what would be the odds of this?

11:33 PM
Just finished watching the first part of the recent everyman program on BBC2. I'll comment more after I've watched the second part, but it's about the Eden Project in Hattersley. The meeting with the local council housing officer was a great example of stereotyping (OK I admit that I thought a similar thing when I started watching and saw Sharon's dungarees!!)

Thanks to The Register for this gem, the COMPAQ Support Library obviously caters for everyone!

Is it just me or does choosing the sex of your baby just seem wrong? Apart from anything else what does it matter whether it's a boy or girl?

We're expecting our second child any day and although we may have preferences as to the sex, it doesn't really matter either way (apart from us running out of names for boys!!)

That was an eventful match today! I'll leave the comments on Van the Man, Viera and Keown to the football pundits.
But what I want to say is, why oh why does everyone ring in to the aftermatch phone-ins with the comments "they are such bad role models". As a parent I would encourage my kid see a competitive game like today's played with true passion, I would also then tell him that being an idiot and getting two yellows let his team down!

12:38 PM
Oh and this morning, didn't go to Church again.

Church with an 18 month old is an hour and a half of struggle, chasing and no time to reflect, talk or listen! So we stopped at home today.

12:34 PM
Found this while looking through uk.religion.christian newsgroup, a testimony that I bet looks so familiar to many. In fact if you just make a few changes here and there it suddenly becomes my story.

Talking to some colleagues at work today about my impending second child, one mentioned "Well you better pray to God to give you a ......". I always find this encouraging, most people have a spiritual side no matter how tiny or un-explored and in this country it is predominantly Christian.

Where there's the smallest hint of an ember you can soon start a fire! Although in this case the conversation passed and that was that or maybe not, perhaps my presumption that my fellow worker wasn't a Christian was incorrect?

10:50 AM
This is quite funny!

9:35 AM
The CofE fights back against the London Eye! Well not exactly, but it's nice to see the CofE be a bit proactive for a change. This is all about persuading people to have their weddings in Church instead of the big mansions and football stadiums. I think this is great that the CofE are doing this, but to be honest my wedding was a fantastic day and it wasn't anything at all to do with where it was!! Great wife and great guests are what you need.

You could do with broadband for this.

You must have heard of "The Star Wars Kid" so I won't dwell too much on this bit (If not take a look at his school project here).

But have you seen the "remake"? This is fantastic! The power of PC video editing eh?

Reading through some newsgroup postings I came across this gem in the uk.media.tv.sky newsgroup. Credit goes to a guy called Dene.

"Sorry, I just had to share this with you as i've just remembered.

Saturday afternoon, England Vs Macendonia.
On screen graphics:
Eng 0 Mac 0

My Mum, casually watching the TV..."Who are they playing? Macclesfield?"
And she was deadly serious."

Then a reply

That was lucky.

The way England played in the first half, they wouldn't have stood a chance
against Macclesfield!!!

Well I thought it was funny!!!

Time for something different, enough of the work whinges! I'm sure if you've read any newspapers in the past few months you can't have missed the "scandal" surrounding Mel Gibson's upcoming film on Christ "The Passion". It has been branded both anti-semitic and anti-Christian in equal measure.

I for one am looking forward to this film and will ignore the claims of inaccuracy and blasphemy and make up my own mind.

Just Stay Positive
(note: the link is from a great album by the Streets, but if the 'F' word offends please do not click on it!)

The words I have had to use today, yet another trying one. Combination of team members ill, technology problems and a general work place melt down! It's been bad enough to make me look forward to my up coming paternity (and I mean the sleepless nights and endless crying), days like this you think it's time to start looking elsewhere.

What a day! Work has been a real pain today, why can't some people be doers instead of finger pointers? Lost count of the number who look to cover their backs rather than say "Right how do we sort this out".

Anyway what I wanted to say is, is it just me that forgets that Jesus is always with us during days like these (or any day in fact). I am determined to pray about today and to see tomorrow as a new day.

Also I took a look through Google for a prayer for work and up came an old friend The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to... which I read an age ago and thought was great, a testimony of a guy in the States who prayed the prayer.

Just trying out the Blogger functions to see if I can make an entry using my mobile phone!

Where have all the old posts gone? Well we shifted the blog to blogger.com. Why? Well it is easier to update it this way and yet we still keep it linked into resurrected.

9:20 PM
If you've got BBC FOUR did you watch this? I did and I ended up being outraged, intrigued, confused, fascinated and frustrated by the program. The program came from the non-Christian side of things (which given the nature of the program was probably right) and held my interest. It finished with a story of Jus Asaf whos story I have never heard before (judging by Google not many others have either! Jesus Christ - 3,280,000 results, Jus Asaf - 82). Who said bring back the Inquisition out there???
